The Bastion Jacket is a highly insulated 900 fill power down jacket constructed from leading Pertex Quantum fabric. Featuring a targeted baffle system that maximises insulation and breathability, the Bastion Jacket is an uncompromising refuge from the cold. Suitable for arctic expeditions and static activity in freezing climates.
Pertex® Quantum uses a tightly woven structure to provide a light and soft down-proof fabric that allows insulation to fully loft, providing both comfort and enhanced thermal performance. Its structure also prevents down shedding, keeping as much insulation as possible within the baffles of the jacket. The fabric is high in tear strength and retains a high level of water repellency after repeated wash and wear.
At 900 fill power the Bastion Jacket boasts an incredible level of warmth. Owing to their natural structure, down fibres are highly breathable, they’re hydrophobic (meaning they repel water), and their loft helps trap and store heat generated by the body. In terms of practicalities, the structure of down also makes it highly compressible which makes for jackets that can more easily pack down.
In terms of features, the Bastion Jacket has a centre front zip with Hypalon zip pull, a zip guard at the top of the jacket prevents irritation when fully zipped. Several pockets offer ample storage capacity for expedition essentials from invisible hip pockets, two large internal stash pockets and a left hand side internal zip pocket. The hood features dual adjustment allowing it to be cinched tight for maximum protection in high winds and an anchored adjustable hem allows the same to minimise heat loss. Baffles have been specifically designed to optimise insulation around the body's core whilst maintaining breathability around the arms. The Bastion Jacket also features a totally unique ThruDark camouflage designed by our in-house team.
